Job Description
Job title: Security Operations Specialist Role Summary: Provide expert oversight of aviation security programs, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international regulations. Manage security data, conduct risk assessments, develop policies, and coordinate responses to incidents and investigations. Act as liaison with federal agencies and partner operations. Expectations: - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of TSA, FAA, CBP, and other regulatory requirements. - Promptly respond to 24/7 on‑call incidents and coordinate necessary notifications. - Deliver actionable security reports and performance metrics to senior leadership and external stakeholders. - Secure and retain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance if required. Key Responsibilities: - Manage Security Management System (SeMS) data entry, analysis, and reporting. - Participate in safety/security risk assessments and safety management program activities. - Draft, recommend, and implement security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines; monitor effectiveness. - Distribute security information to operations leadership and external partners. - Conduct security investigations, inspections, and audits. - Communicate with TSA Principal Security Specialist, FAA regulators, FBI, and other agencies. - Support codeshare meetings and special initiatives. - Ensure operational coordination of incidents and follow‑up with appropriate agencies. - Maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external customers including government agencies and codeshare partners. - Provide additional support duties as assigned. Required Skills: - Strong understanding of TSA/FAA/CBP regulations and aviation security standards. - Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance when required. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; data entry and analysis. - Excellent written and verbal communication, report writing, and presentation skills. - Problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making abilities. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond to emergencies. - Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight trips. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in aviation, aviation management, or related field *or* equivalent operational experience. - Minimum 3 years of operational experience in aviation management or regulatory compliance (preferred 5 years). - Minimum of 3 years as Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) experience. - U.S. Government Secret Clearance obtainable when required for Aircraft Operator Standard Security Program (AOSSP) Program Manager role.
