Job Description
Job Title: Interim Operations Director Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Planet Mark’s carbon measurement and analytics services. Own the end‑to‑end data framework, ensuring data integrity, compliance with global carbon standards, and scalable delivery across the organization’s technical, product, and engineering functions. Expectations: - Execute a fixed‑term engagement of up to 9 months, delivering measurable outcomes in data quality, operational efficiency, and stakeholder alignment. - Demonstrate strategic, commercial, and technical leadership in a high‑growth, data‑driven environment. Key Responsibilities: - Own the carbon data framework, ensuring robust, scalable, and auditable delivery of analytical inputs and outputs. - Define and evolve systems, data requirements, and operational workflows that translate complex carbon methodologies into product‑ready solutions. - Oversee data quality, governance, audit readiness, and alignment with SBTi, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, and other relevant reporting standards. - Partner with Product and Engineering teams to design platform requirements, automation, tooling, and process improvements that drive adoption and reduce risk. - Develop analytics and insights to support decision‑making across value chains, sectors, and portfolios. - Manage the Operations team (carbon consultants and data analysts), fostering high‑performance culture, coaching, and performance management. Required Skills: - Deep expertise in carbon accounting, emissions measurement, and reduction strategies. - Proven senior operations leadership in technical or data‑driven organizations, with a track record of scaling service delivery. - Strong capabilities in data governance, quality control, audit processes, and compliance with carbon reporting standards. - Excellent cross‑functional collaboration, senior‑level stakeholder management, communication, and change‑management skills. - Analytical, structured, and solutions‑focused mindset capable of designing scalable operating models and navigating ambiguity. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline. - Relevant carbon standards certifications (e.g., GHG Protocol Lead Auditor, ISO 14064, Science‑Based Targets initiative).
