Job Description
Job Title: Project Intern – Dashboard & Analytics Role Summary: Support the Tax District Administration Department’s data analytics and business intelligence operations by maintaining, enhancing, and validating Microsoft Power BI dashboards and related analytical tools used for regional transit funding and reporting. Expatations: – Work up to 15 hours per week, Monday–Friday. – Current student or recent graduate in data analytics, information systems, public administration, business, economics, computer science, or related field. – Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Key Responsibilities: 1. Maintain, update, and modify Power BI dashboards, data models, and reports. 2. Integrate new data sources and develop visualizations to meet evolving business needs. 3. Support design and implementation of reporting system enhancements for automation, usability, and performance. 4. Perform data validation, quality assurance checks, and document dashboard inputs/outputs. 5. Respond to ad‑hoc analytics requests and provide data extracts or trend analyses. 6. Deliver basic technical support for Power BI, Power Query, and data pipelines under supervision. 7. Contribute to prototype development for new dashboards and reports. 8. Coordinate tasks and priorities with staff, ensuring timely completion of work. Required Skills: – Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Power BI (including Power Query). – Basic understanding of data visualization principles and data modeling concepts. – Strong data quality focus and documentation skills. – Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines. – Effective verbal and written communication. Required Education & Certifications: – Current enrollment or recent graduation in data analytics, business intelligence, computer science, economics, public administration, or a related field. – Foundational experience with data analysis tools; no specific certifications required.
