Job Description
**Job Title** Senior Director, Services & Connected Platforms **Role Summary** Lead the end‑to‑end service organization, owning the full Service P&L and executing a multi‑year transformation strategy. Drive the integration of connected, preventive, and predictive services across field operations, spare parts, dispatch, and commercial offerings. Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product Marketing to position technology‑enabled solutions that enhance uptime, productivity, and safety for professional automotive and equipment service shops. **Expectations** - Own Service revenue, margins, and cost structures, steering commercial policy to achieve growth targets. - Build and scale a data‑enabled, productivity‑focused service engine that turns equipment data into actionable insights and monetizable services. - Partner with R&D, IT, and Marketing to deliver secure, scalable edge‑to‑cloud architectures, dashboards, and customer portals. - Lead cross‑functional teams across Sales, Finance, Operations, IT, and R&D to deliver consistent, measurable outcomes. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Service Strategy & P&L Leadership** – Define, own, and report on Service financials and long‑term strategy. 2. **Connected Platforms Development** – Champion scalable, secure data architectures; deliver real‑time analytics, predictive maintenance, and compliance dashboards. 3. **Field Service Operations** – Optimize technician productivity, dispatch routing, parts inventory, and service level KPIs. 4. **Safety & Monetizable Services** – Translate safety and compliance data into subscription offerings (predictive maintenance, safety monitoring, utilization analytics). 5. **Go‑to‑Market Collaboration** – Work with Marketing and Product Marketing on positioning, sales enablement, ROI messaging, and customer education. 6. **Cross‑Functional Leadership** – Guide a matrixed Service organization, coordinate with Finance, IT, Operations, R&D, and Sales. 7. **External Representation** – Engage key customers, partners, and industry forums to validate value propositions. **Required Skills** - P&L ownership and financial stewardship - Strategic planning and execution in service and operations - Cross‑functional leadership and stakeholder management - Data‑driven decision making, analytics, and KPI development - Field service operations optimization (dispatch, routing, technician utilization) - Knowledge of connected device platforms, edge/cloud architecture, and IoT analytics - Experience with predictive maintenance, safety compliance, and monetization models - Strong communication, presentation, and change‑management skills **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field - MBA or advanced graduate degree preferred - Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership with P&L ownership in Service or Operations; automotive aftermarket or industrial equipment experience a plus.
