Job Description
**Job Title:** Onsite IT Support Technician **Role Summary:** Provide hands‑on, field‑based technical support for clients across multiple sites. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, install and configure end‑user devices, and ensure client productivity through proactive maintenance and timely incident resolution. **Expectations:** - Work independently with minimal supervision. - Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams. - Maintain accurate ticketing and documentation. - Travel regularly to client sites; hold a valid UK driving licence and own vehicle (mileage reimbursed). **Key Responsibilities:** - Visit client locations to assess, diagnose, and resolve IT problems. - Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. - Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues (switches, routers, Wi‑Fi, cabling). - Perform basic firewall diagnostics (FortiGate preferred). - Execute structured cabling, patch panel, and cable termination tasks. - Support Windows OS and Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy. - Rack, stack, and cable network/server equipment. - Document all work in the ticketing system and follow up to closure. - Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when necessary. **Required Skills:** - Proven ability to diagnose IT hardware and software faults. - Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). - Basic understanding of firewall and network security. - Experience with structured cabling and cable terminations. - Solid Windows 10/11 troubleshooting skills. - Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy. - Excellent client‑facing communication and interpersonal skills. - Highly self‑motivated with strong organisational and time‑management abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. - Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator (preferred). ---
