Job Description
**Job Title:** BIM Internship **Role Summary:** Assist in geospatial fieldwork and data processing for large-scale infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include operating 3D laser scanning, LiDAR, and drone equipment, managing and registering point cloud data, performing basic drafting and BIM modeling, and ensuring data quality and equipment maintenance. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate strong interest and aptitude in 3D technologies. - Maintain a positive, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn. - Meet academic performance standards (GPA ≥ 2.5). - Work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. **Key Responsibilities:** - Set up and calibrate 3D laser scanners, LiDAR systems, drones, and related field equipment. - Deploy targets, control points, and conduct accurate data acquisition on job sites. - Transfer, organize, and manage large point‑cloud and survey data files. - Register and process point cloud data for use in BIM and CAD workflows. - Create 2D and 3D drawings and simple models in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent BIM software. - Perform quality assurance checks on collected data for accuracy and completeness. - Maintain equipment, ensuring proper handling, storage, and routine upkeep. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency with CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit) and point‑cloud processing tools. - Familiarity with GIS concepts and spatial data management. - Basic understanding of construction drawings, building systems, and site layout. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Detail‑oriented with a focus on data accuracy. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program related to Building Information Modeling, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture. - Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. - No specific certifications required; knowledge of point‑cloud and BIM software is advantageous.
