Job Description: **Job Title** Healthcare Support Worker – Learning Disabilities (Student Bank) **Role Summary** Provide flexible, on‑call support across NHS Tayside nursing and midwifery units, specialising in learning disabilities care. Rotate across day, evening, night and weekend shifts, using an electronic booking system to fit personal study commitments. **Expectations** - Complete mandatory NHS Scotland Health‑Care Support Worker induction and adhere to the Code of Conduct. - Maintain up‑to‑date completion of LearnPro core modules: Manual Handling, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Intermediate Life Support (ILS). - Sign up for unsocial hours (including weekends) and review weekly pay and statutory leave entitlements. **Key Responsibilities** - Deliver person‑centred care for adults with learning disabilities, supporting treatment, mobility, monitoring and daily living needs. - Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to implement care plans. - Document care interventions accurately in the electronic health record. - Participate in shift handovers and safety briefings. - Adhere to infection control and safety protocols. **Required Skills** - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Strong organisational and time‑management abilities to manage varied shift patterns. - Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional conduct. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current nursing student status (undergraduate or postgraduate). - Completed LearnPro “7 Core” mandatory modules, including Manual Handling and BLS (face‑to‑face). - Valid reference from Head of Studies. - Induction training for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland (to be completed on employment). ---
