Job Description
Job title: Cybersecurity Analyst Role Summary: Conduct comprehensive audits, risk analyses, and compliance checks for DoD and Army regulations; manage eMASS documentation; develop and enforce cybersecurity policies; perform vulnerability scans and continuous monitoring with SIEM/EDR; lead initial incident response and post‑incident reviews; leverage threat intelligence to preempt emerging risks. Expactations: Minimum 5+ years of cybersecurity experience supporting DoD programs; full compliance with DoDI 8140; U.S. citizenship with active DoD Secret Security Clearance; willingness to travel up to 25% within the U.S. Key Responsibilities: - Execute audits and compliance checks to meet DoD/Army standards. - Perform risk analyses, security assessments, and compliance validations. - Maintain accurate compliance records in eMASS. - Develop and implement organizational cybersecurity policies and standards. - Determine data sensitivity, conduct vulnerability scans per classification guidelines. - Monitor SIEM and EDR tools, investigate suspicious activity. - Analyze network traffic and system logs for anomalies. - Lead triage, investigation, containment, and remediation of incidents. - Conduct post‑incident reviews to enhance defenses. - Utilize threat intelligence feeds to mitigate emerging threats. - Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Windows Server administration. - Hands‑on experience with Cisco routers/switches. - Knowledge of SDLC and secure development practices. - Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures, SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and network analysis tools. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention to detail. - Ability to interpret DoD and Army cybersecurity directives. - Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex concepts to varied audiences. - Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols, and security principles. - Proactive mindset with commitment to continuous professional growth. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. - 5+ years of cybersecurity experience supporting DoD programs. - Full compliance with DoDI 8140 certification requirements. - U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret Security Clearance. - Preferred certifications: CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
