Job Description
**Job Title** Site Superintendent – Retail Construction **Role Summary** Four‑month contract to supervise day‑to‑day operations of high‑end retail buildouts. Manage schedules, coordinate subcontractors, enforce safety and building‑code compliance, and communicate progress to senior project management. **Expectations** - Deliver a complete, code‑compliant retail space within the contract term. - Maintain high quality, robust safety, and schedule adherence. - Act as the primary on‑site leadership figure, problem‑solving and decision‑making. - Provide accurate, timely project reporting and documentation. **Key Responsibilities** - Supervise all daily site activities and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications. - Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly schedules; update as needed. - Coordinate and brief subcontractors and site staff, ensuring proper sequencing and quality. - Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents. - Enforce safety regulations, conduct daily safety briefings, and address any hazards. - Monitor construction progress, resolve onsite issues, and adjust resources when required. - Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and daily reports. - Communicate project status, critical issues, and risk mitigation to the project manager. - Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, zoning, and regulatory approvals. **Required Skills** - 10+ years experience as a Site Superintendent in high‑end retail construction. - Strong project management, schedule planning, and resource allocation skills. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and documents. - Leadership and team‑management capabilities for coordinating subcontractors and in‑house staff. - Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities under tight timelines. - Deep knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and building‑code requirements. - Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field (or equivalent experience). - OSHA 30‑hour OSHA Safety Certification or equivalent. - Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or similar professional certification is preferred.
