Job Description

**Job Title** R&D Internship – Artificial Image Generation for Industrial Vision **Role Summary** Design, implement, and evaluate AI-driven methods to synthesize realistic defect images for industrial quality control datasets. Work at the intersection of applied research and field operations to enhance training data and model performance. **Expectations** - Deliver end-to-end generation pipelines that produce high‑realism, diverse defect imagery. - Define and apply quantitative metrics to assess generated data utility for defect detection/classification. - Document findings and provide production‑ready recommendations. **Key Responsibilities** - Compare advanced data‑augmentation (geometric, photometric, contextual), inpainting, GAN, Diffusion, VAE, and hybrid physics‑AI approaches. - Build scalable pipelines using Python, PyTorch, OpenCV, PIL, and Docker. - Ensure visual realism, texture consistency, lighting coherence, and industrial applicability. - Collaborate with operations teams to adapt generation methods to real client scenarios. - Produce augmented datasets for production model training and analyze failure causes related to data scarcity. - Contribute to continuous improvement of data workflows (annotation, validation, training). **Required Skills** - Strong foundation in deep learning and image processing. - Experience with PyTorch, NumPy, OpenCV, and ML‑deployment tools (FastAPI, Docker, MLFlow). - Familiarity with generative modeling: GANs, diffusion models, VAEs. - Ability to design, implement, and evaluate data‑augmentation pipelines. - Self‑directed research mindset and ability to translate research into production solutions. - Good communication skills for documentation and cross‑functional collaboration. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrolment in an engineering school or master’s program (Bac + 4/5) with a focus on AI, computer vision, or related fields. - (Optional) Completion of coursework in deep learning, generative models, and industrial vision applications.
