Job Description

**Job Title:** Site Engineer – Structural Steel **Role Summary:** Responsible for ensuring structural steel installations meet line, level, and tolerance specifications, conducting surveys, producing as‑built documentation, and issuing handover certifications. Works on turnkey projects from greenfield through final handover, coordinating with multiple trades across the UK and Ireland. **Expectations:** - Minimum 3 years experience with line and level checks on steel structures. - Proficient use of Total Station equipment (Leica/Trimble). - Ability to process survey data and generate AutoCAD drawings. - Hold a valid CSCS card and UK driving licence. - Willingness to travel nationwide and stay on‑site as required. - Demonstrate strong communication, reliability, and a proactive work ethic. **Key Responsibilities:** - Verify steelwork installation against contractual tolerances (plumb, line, level). - Conduct and record as‑built bolt, cast‑in plate, steel, and survey measurements. - Perform “dead” bolt casting, road and drainage line setting‑out, and topographic surveys. - Produce accurate as‑built drawings using AutoCAD. - Operate Leica or Trimble Total Stations for surveying and setting‑out tasks. - Manage workload across multiple sites and ensure timely handover certification. **Required Skills:** - Total Station operation (Leica/Trimble) - AutoCAD drafting for as‑built drawings - Survey data processing and interpretation - Strong attention to detail and tolerance compliance - Effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams - Ability to work independently and manage multiple site responsibilities **Required Education & Certifications:** - Relevant engineering or construction qualification (e.g., BEng/HND in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent experience). - Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card. - Full UK driving licence.
