Job Description
Job Title: Industrialisation Intern Role Summary: 6‑month internship beginning March 2026 focused on industrial pilot‑scale production and scale‑up of lab‑derived recipes for a bioprocessing company. The intern supports all production phases, designs and executes experiments, documents results, and develops tools to improve production efficiency. Expectations: - Deliver thorough experiment plans and data reports within prescribed timelines. - Present findings to the engineering team orally. - Contribute directly to cost‑effective, scalable production processes. - Maintain rigorous science, organization, and a solution‑focused approach. Key Responsibilities: - Design and run pilot‑scale experiments to validate and scale up lab protocols. - Collect, analyze, and document experimental data; update the company knowledge base. - Develop and refine production support methods/tools (e.g., compliance rate improvement, production variance prediction, data tracking). - Participate in industrial process testing, pilot production runs, and daily pilot plant operations. - Collaborate with engineering and production teams to iterate on process improvements. Required Skills: - Process engineering with emphasis on agri‑food or biotechnology. - Microbiology and fermentation techniques (solid‑state fermentation preferred). - Scientific experimentation design and analysis. - Data handling and analytical skills; computer tool development advantageous. - Strong scientific rigor, organizational ability, autonomy, curiosity, proactive problem‑solving, and synthesis skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Current enrollment in a general engineering, agronomy, or process engineering program, or a Master II in biotechnology (fermentation) or agri‑food engineering. - No specific certifications required.
