Job Description
Job title: Business Development Manager Role Summary: Own the full B2B SaaS sales cycle to expand footprint in the UK social housing sector. Drive prospecting, needs analysis, tailored demos, tender participation, negotiation, and contract closure while building trusted stakeholder relationships. Expectations: • Close net new business revenue within set targets. • Build and maintain a forecast-accurate pipeline. • Increase market penetration among housing associations, local authorities, and ALMOs. • Meet or exceed KPIs on demos, meetings, and pipeline progression. Key Responsibilities: • Prospect and qualify leads across social housing providers. • Conduct discovery sessions to understand operational, compliance, and customer service challenges. • Deliver product demonstrations tailored to housing‑specific needs. • Manage tender and RFI responses, including multi‑stakeholder procurement processes. • Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring a smooth handover to implementation teams. • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records in Salesforce; forecast pipeline and report metrics. • Develop strategic account plans for key providers. • Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to align solutions with client needs. • Engage senior stakeholders (C‑suite, Heads of Service, Assets & Compliance Leads) and influence decision‑making. Required Skills: • 3+ years of B2B SaaS or public‑sector technology sales experience. • Proven success in consultative, complex sales cycles, including tenders and multi‑party procurement. • Strong presentation, communication, and influencing skills. • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and pipeline management. • Ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. • Highly organized, resilient, proactive, and target‑driven. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Technology, or related field (preferred). Note: Commutable to Manchester centre.
