Job Title: Manager – Cloud Data Architect (AWS & Snowflake)
Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise‑grade data architectures on AWS and Snowflake. Drive scalable, secure, high‑performance solutions, mentor teams, and shape cloud data strategy.
Expectations:
- Deliver complex data architecture projects on time and within budget.
- Mentor data engineers and junior architects to adopt best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with business goals and compliance requirements.
- Stay current with emerging cloud data technologies and advise on roadmap improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design end‑to‑end cloud data architectures (data lakes, warehouses, real‑time pipelines) using AWS services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena, Lake Formation) and Snowflake.
- Establish data modeling, ETL/ELT, and governance best practices.
- Create and maintain data governance, security, and compliance frameworks across platforms.
- Lead technical delivery, coordinating cross‑functional teams of engineers, analysts, and DevOps.
- Present architecture solutions, roadmaps, and progress to senior leadership.
- Identify automation, cost‑optimization, and innovation opportunities; contribute to cloud data strategy.
Required Skills:
- 6–10 years data architecture experience; minimum 3 years in cloud‑native environments.
- Deep expertise with AWS services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena, Lake Formation).
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake (architecture, performance tuning, security, data sharing).
- Proficient in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and metadata management.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud.
- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Prior consulting experience and familiarity with agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies highly valued.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty).
- Snowflake certification(s) preferred.
