**Job Title:** Director, Generative AI
**Role Summary:**
Lead the strategy, design, and deployment of generative and agentic AI solutions across pharmaceutical R&D at the ShinrAI Center. Partner with data science, domain, and business teams to translate scientific and operational challenges into scalable machine‑learning projects, champion ethical AI practices, and drive measurable impact for innovative medicine development.
**Expectations:**
- Provide technical vision and hands‑on leadership for end‑to‑end AI initiatives.
- Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to diverse audiences and senior stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop AI/ML engineers and data scientists across the organization.
- Ensure AI solutions adhere to ethical, regulatory, and governance standards.
- Track, document, and report the business impact of AI projects.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Identify and prioritize AI opportunities that enhance decision‑making and automation in R&D.
- Design, prototype, and launch production‑grade generative AI/LLM and agentic AI systems.
- Fine‑tune large language models for domain‑specific tasks and implement transfer‑learning strategies for limited data sets.
- Monitor emerging AI research, build external partnerships, and present findings to shape long‑term strategy.
- Create and disseminate best‑practice guidelines, opinion pieces, and training materials for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Ethics and Governance teams to embed responsible AI practices.
- Lead cross‑functional working groups and contribute to organizational AI capability building.
**Required Skills:**
- 8+ years building and scaling ML pipelines from concept to production.
- Deep expertise in generative AI, LLMs, and agentic AI architectures.
- Proficiency with deep‑learning frameworks (e.g., Transformers, LSTM, CNN, RNN) and traditional ML algorithms (k‑means, SVM, decision trees, Bayesian models).
- Experience in computer vision, NLP, multimodal learning, or related domains (depth in at least two).
- Strong problem‑solving ability to convert business goals into concrete ML use cases.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to evaluate and convey implications of emerging technologies.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- No specific certifications required, though recognized AI/ML credentials (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch certifications) are advantageous.
