Job Description
**Job Title:** Manager, Destination Sales (Potential for Senior Role) **Role Summary:** Lead the promotion of Sonoma County as a premier destination for groups, meetings, and special events. Drive lead acquisition, conversion, and partnership development to meet organizational KPIs, with the opportunity for advancement to Senior Manager. **Expectations:** - Achieve sales targets and KPI metrics, including inbound lead follow‑up, conversion rates, and partnership ROI. - Demonstrate proactive prospecting and market expansion with new and existing accounts. - Execute high‑impact trade shows, events, and familiarization trips, ensuring compelling client engagement. - Maintain a partnership-first mindset, collaborating with local industry partners and key planners. - Operate efficiently within CRM, RFP, and booking platforms, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and timely responses. **Key Responsibilities:** - Coordinate inbound lead distribution, follow‑up, and status tracking across the sales team. - Identify and develop new market opportunities, partnerships, and promotional initiatives. - Organize and attend sales blitzes, trade shows, client events, site inspections, and FAM tours. - Create branded presentations, sales communications, positioning strategies, and follow‑up materials. - Manage CRM activities: capture leads, track interactions, and generate reports. - Handle RFPs and leads via phone, virtual meetings, email, and in‑person interactions. - Build and maintain relationships with lodging properties, attractions, wineries, DMCs, and other partners. - Provide destination insights, stay updated on new developments, and adjust positioning accordingly. - Conduct site inspections and coordinate itineraries for client visits. - Assist with quarterly sales team events and partner mixers. **Required Skills:** - Excellent verbal and written communication. - Strong sales acumen with proven lead generation and conversion ability. - Advanced CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and Proposal/Booking platform proficiency (Cvent, etc.). - Event planning and logistics coordination. - Relationship building with industry professionals, planners, and community partners. - Self‑motivated, high energy, partner‑first mindset. - Analytical mindset for tracking performance metrics and reporting. - Ability to travel for events and site visits. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field. - Professional sales or hospitality certifications (e.g., Certified Meeting Professional, Travel Industry Certifications) preferred but not mandatory.
