Job Title: Backend Software Engineer Intern
Job Description: Job title: Backend Software Engineer Intern Role Summary Assist in building and maintaining the core backend services and APIs that power a SaaS supply‑chain operations platform. Work on scalable data models, database architecture and integration with external APIs, collaborating closely with product and frontend teams to deliver new features. Expectations * Commit to 25 hours per week of focused development work. * Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous integration processes. * Communicate progress and blockers clearly to the founding team and cross‑functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities * Design, implement, and maintain scalable RESTful and gRPC APIs. * Model and optimize relational or NoSQL databases for transactional and analytic workloads. * Integrate third‑party services (e.g., payment gateways, messaging, storage) via well‑documented APIs. * Profile and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks; improve system reliability and error handling. * Collaborate with frontend engineers and product managers to translate feature requirements into technical specifications. * Participate in the development of deployment pipelines, including CI/CD and container orchestration if applicable. Required Skills * Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. * Practical experience writing backend code in Node.js, Python, or a similar language. * Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL stores (MongoDB, DynamoDB). * Ability to consume and expose RESTful services; knowledge of API design. * Comfortable using Git, branching workflows, and pull request reviews. * Problem‑solving mindset and ability to debug complex distributed systems.
