Job Description
Job Title: Dispatcher / Quality Control Inspector Role Summary: Ensure efficient local freight operations by coordinating driver schedules, conducting yard inspections, managing delivery oversight, and handling billing and vendor payments. Expectations: Operate a Monday‑Friday schedule (7 am‑2 pm) with an hour lunch, maintain availability for weekend and overtime work, demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, and uphold safety and quality standards for each load. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct daily yard walk‑throughs, validate perimeters, inspect trailers, and report anomalies to Operations Manager. • Maintain on‑time deliveries and appointments; perform safety checklists and log trailer ins/outs. • Manage billing: upload load slots, circulate empty trailer cards, email driver bills, and forward vendor invoices to payment department. • Assist drivers with check‑in procedures. • Ensure operational efficiency by keeping the yard layout clear, maintaining a clean office/breakroom, and monitoring supplies. • Follow up on delivery/appointment schedules; process timely vendor payments upon job completion. Required Skills: • Minimum 1 year dispatcher experience. • Reliable transportation and schedule flexibility. • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational capabilities. • Effective written and verbal communication. • Basic computer proficiency (email, spreadsheets, dispatch software). • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with driver‑focused teams. Required Education & Certifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Certified dispatcher or related industry certification preferred.
