Job Description: Job Title: Backend Engineer Role Summary: Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services for a digital caregiving platform, ensuring high reliability and fast feature delivery in a fully remote, collaborative environment. Expactations: Demonstrate 6+ years of professional backend experience, own system architecture and quality, ship new features on a weekly basis, and maintain 4+ hours of overlap with U.S. time zones. Key Responsibilities: - Design, code, test, and deploy Node.js (TypeScript) services using REST and GraphQL APIs. - Manage relational data with MySQL, including schema design, migrations, and performance tuning. - Collaborate with product and UX teams to translate user stories into robust API solutions. - Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines on AWS, leveraging Docker/Kubernetes for container orchestration. - Monitor service health, implement observability (logging, metrics, alerts), and troubleshoot production incidents. - Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous improvement efforts. Required Skills: - Node.js (TypeScript) – 6+ years of professional experience. - MySQL – schema design, query optimization. - REST and GraphQL API design and implementation. - Docker/Kubernetes – deployment and scaling (preferred). - AWS services (EC2, RDS, ECS/EKS, Lambda, etc.). - Git and version control best practices. - Ability to work remotely, communicate effectively, and overlap with U.S. hours.
