**Job Title**
IT Infrastructure and Operations Specialist
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of a secure, scalable IT infrastructure for a regional business unit. Responsibilities span infrastructure architecture, network engineering, endpoint and security management, and operational excellence, including incident response, automation, disaster recovery, and vendor stewardship. Act as a technical escalation point and partner with business and global IT stakeholders to align technology with evolving business and security requirements.
**Expectations**
- Deliver and maintain high‑availability, secure, and performance‑optimized infrastructure that meets enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Proactively assess, adopt, and pilot new technologies that drive cost savings, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Provide timely incident resolution and root‑cause analysis while driving continuous improvement and automation.
- Lead and document disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and conduct regular testing.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance, ensuring value and compliance.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, implement, and optimise secure, scalable infrastructure across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments.
- Evaluate acquisition opportunities for emerging technologies that improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor system and network performance, capacity, and availability to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
- Implement and maintain security controls: EDR, MFA, SSO, SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection, and identity management.
- Design, deploy and maintain WAN, LAN, VPN, SD‑WAN, OSPF, BGP, and related networking solutions.
- Configure, support, and maintain Windows Server, VMware ESXi, vSphere, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Apply patches, updates, and upgrades; maintain asset inventory and configuration baselines.
- Resolve Tier 1‑3 incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and recommend process improvements.
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation: architecture diagrams, network diagrams, SOPs, policies, and knowledge‑base articles.
- Support audits, security assessments, and evidence collection.
- Evaluate vendors, prepare technical proposals, and manage contract negotiations and vendor performance.
**Required Skills**
- 3–5+ years of corporate IT infrastructure and operations experience.
- Strong expertise in cloud (Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID), virtualisation (VMware ESXi, vSphere), endpoint management (Jamf, ABM), and networking (WAN/LAN, VPN, SD‑WAN, OSPF, BGP, firewalls).
- Proficient in security technologies: EDR, MFA, SSO, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
- Hands‑on experience with Windows networking (DNS, DHCP) and routing protocols.
- Analytical, troubleshooting, and critical‑thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and operate in ambiguous environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑cultural collaboration.
- Strong documentation, organisational, and project‑management skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems Security, or related field.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ‑104), Microsoft 365 Certified, VMware Certified Professional, or equivalent are a plus.
