Job Description
Job title: Business Analyst Role Summary: Deliver data‑driven insights and AI‑enhanced analytics to optimize inventory management, purchasing, and merchandising decisions within a large educational product distribution environment. Expactations: - Produce actionable BI dashboards and scenario models that directly influence operational strategy. - Integrate AI tools to enhance demand planning and forecast accuracy. - Maintain data integrity across ERP and planning systems. - Communicate findings clearly to cross‑functional teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Design and maintain interactive Tableau (or equivalent) dashboards on service levels, supplier performance, forecast accuracy, and operational KPIs. - Lead projects to improve demand planning capabilities and SKU‑level forecast accuracy. - Build weekly inventory and purchasing performance dashboards identifying trends and improvement opportunities. - Model future inventory needs through scenario analysis, exception handling, and simulations. - Conduct item master data reviews ensuring consistency across ERP and planning tools. - Collaborate with Merchandising to define and measure vendor performance, SKU productivity, and assortment planning. - Oversee reporting and analysis of import freight, freight forwarder services, and tariff costs. Required Skills: - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivots, macros). - Expertise with Tableau (or Power BI, etc.) for data visualization and reporting. - Experience applying AI/ML tools for analytics, modeling, or business insights. - Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory data structures. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. - Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of cross‑functional teams. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - Minimum 3 years of business analysis, data analytics, or inventory management experience. - Preferred certifications: Tableau Desktop Specialist, Advanced Excel, or similar analytics credentials. ---
