Job Description
Job title Water Team Leader – Potable Water Production & Distribution (M/F) Role Summary Lead and manage the daily operation of potable water treatment plants and the distribution network within a defined sector. Oversee a technical team of 16 (10 network operators and 6 plant technicians), ensuring high‑quality water delivery, operational safety, technical performance, and financial targets. Act as the primary interface with local authorities and stakeholders to maintain service level agreements and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities 1. **Team Leadership** – Recruit, coach, and evaluate 16 technical staff; foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. 2. **Operational Planning** – Schedule and prioritize production, maintenance, and corrective work; maintain optimal plant and network performance. 3. **Supervision of Plants & Network** – Monitor real‑time data; adjust controls; diagnose issues; lead corrective actions. 4. **Performance & Compliance** – Track KPIs (water quality, uptime, safety incidents); implement improvement initiatives; ensure adherence to regulations and internal standards. 5. **Maintenance & Renewal Management** – Develop and execute preventive and renewal programs for infrastructure. 6. **Financial Stewardship** – Participate in budgeting, monitor operating and capital expenditures, and report variances to senior management. 7. **Stakeholder Relations** – Represent the utility in meetings with local governments and institutional partners; ensure contractual commitments are met. 8. **Reporting** – Prepare technical and operational reports for management, regulators, and customers. Required Skills - Leadership & people management - Planning, scheduling, and organizational ability - Technical knowledge of potable water treatment processes and distribution network operations - Troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action coordination - Data‑driven decision making and performance measurement - Safety and environmental compliance awareness - Financial acumen (budgeting, cost control) - Strong written and oral communication; stakeholder engagement - Proficiency in water monitoring software and Microsoft Office suite - Valid driver’s licence (Category B) Required Education & Certifications - Technical diploma equivalent to a BTS (Bac +2) in Water Engineering, Water Technology, or related field. - Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in potable water plant and network operation; at least 2 years in a supervisory role. - Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Water Quality Management, ISO 14001/9001 audit role) are an advantage but not mandatory. - Fluent in French; English proficiency preferred for cross‑border collaboration.
