Job title: Senior Network & Security Engineer
Role Summary: Design, implement, and maintain high‑availability network and security infrastructure within a SaaS hosting environment, lead security projects, conduct audits, and support 24/7 incident response.
Expactations: Communicate proactively, maintain composure under pressure, support on‑call rotations, produce clear documentation, and enforce security best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain networking and firewall equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Process routine change requests for network and firewall devices.
- Manage security tools, review vulnerability findings, and maintain audit logs.
- Lead network and security projects, providing technical direction and mentorship.
- Participate in compliance audits (ISO, SOC) and advocate for strong security disciplines.
- Serve on 24/7 Response Team, handling on‑call duties and off‑hour escalations.
- Collaborate with partners, vendors, and internal teams to integrate best‑practice methodologies.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in subnetting, VLANs, NAT, routing (BGP, static) and routing protocols.
- Hands‑on experience with firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, load balancers (F5), MPLS, VPNs, and tunneling.
- Proficient with security auditing tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with public‑cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on‑premises infrastructure.
- Strong network traffic analysis, proactive monitoring, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and documentation abilities.
- Automation of routine tasks using scripting or configuration management tools.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications: CCNA/CCNP, Security+, CISSP, or equivalent security/ networking certifications.
