Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineering Intern – Test Engineering Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain automated test software that validates medium‑voltage power electronics and subsystems in laboratory and manufacturing environments. Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and validation teams to optimize test workflows, reduce cycle time, and improve data accuracy while adhering to coding standards. Expactations: Deliver clean, modular code; participate actively in code reviews; document software and test procedures; debug and optimize hardware‑software interactions; continuously improve automation tools; communicate progress and challenges clearly to cross‑functional teams. Key Responsibilities: • Create and refine automated test software for medium‑voltage power electronics. • Deploy, maintain, and enhance test code across lab and production lines. • Write and review clear, maintainable code following company standards. • Contribute to code reviews and quality discussions. • Identify opportunities to reduce test time and increase data precision. • Engage in hardware bring‑up, system debugging, and software performance tuning. • Develop concise documentation for deployment steps and test workflows. • Apply first‑principles thinking and curiosity to solve complex problems. Required Skills: • Strong programming in system‑level languages (C / C++ / Go / Rust). • Experience interfacing software with microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, or similar). • Proficiency with Git version control. • Solid problem‑solving, analytical, and communication abilities. • Time‑management and proactive task ownership. Bonus Qualifications: • Fundamentals of electrical theory (Ohm’s law, AC/DC). • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies. • Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I²C). • Scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash). Required Education & Certifications: • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
