Job Description
**Job title**: IT Apprentice **Role Summary**: Provide first‑ and second‑line technical support across a Europe‑wide user base while undertaking an ICT Level 3 apprenticeship. Manage incidents and service requests via a ticketing system, collaborate with global colleagues, and participate in system upgrade and security projects. **Expectations**: Deliver support within agreed service levels; maintain accurate ticket records and technical documentation; demonstrate continuous skill development; apply IT security and data‑protection standards in all activities. **Key Responsibilities** - Respond to and resolve user incidents and service requests through the service desk ticketing system. - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and address hardware, software, and network issues on laptops, desktops, and mobile devices. - Install, configure, and support approved applications and operating systems in line with IT and security policies. - Escalate complex or unresolved faults to senior engineers and provide detailed hand‑over documentation. - Maintain clear, up‑to‑date ticket records and knowledge‑base entries. - Collaborate with global IT staff and third‑party suppliers on system upgrades, device refreshes, and security updates. - Apply IT security, data protection, and health & safety procedures when handling systems and user data. - Participate in apprenticeship learning, coaching sessions, and on‑the‑job training to build technical and professional competencies. **Required Skills** - Basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving techniques for end‑user hardware and software. - Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems; mobile device platforms expected. - Effective verbal and written communication; customer‑service orientation. - Ability to document technical procedures clearly and concisely. - Team‑work, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a fast‑moving environment. - Knowledge of IT security fundamentals (e.g., password management, antivirus, MFA). **Required Education & Certifications** - ICT Level 3 apprenticeship in progress or completed; or equivalent IT qualification. - ITIL Foundation or similar introductory IT service management certification is advantageous.
