Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer (Java, SQL) Role Summary: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain high‑performance backend services for a cloud‑based software delivery platform. Own critical components that transform data from multiple developer tools into actionable metrics and support millions of developers worldwide. Expactations: - Deliver robust, scalable code within tight sprint cycles. - Maintain high system reliability and performance in distributed environments. - Collaborate cross‑functionally with SRE, DevOps, and product teams. - Drive continuous improvement of architecture, tooling, and best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement Java‑based backend services using relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL). - Write and tune SQL queries for optimal performance. - Design data models and indexing strategies for large‑scale analytics. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, container images, and deployment scripts. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in distributed systems. - Produce functional specifications, design docs, and code reviews. - Engage in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospective meetings. - Stay current with emerging technologies (cloud, search, observability) and apply them to the codebase. Required Skills: - 8–10+ years Java backend development. - Deep experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL and SQL optimization. - Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD tooling. - Knowledge of search frameworks (Elasticsearch, SOLR) is a plus. - Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and system‑design skills. - Comfortable with agile practices and short release cycles. - Excellent written and verbal communication. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Java SE Developer) are advantageous.
