Job Description: **Job Title:** Staff Machine Learning Researcher **Role Summary:** Architect and lead end‑to‑end AI systems for multi‑scale simulation and design of physical technologies. Drive research‑to‑production pipelines, elevate engineering standards, and push novel machine learning architectures for scientific domains. **Expactations:** - Set and enforce the highest standards of code quality, system design, and research rigor. - Deliver production‑ready AI models across the entire development pipeline: simulations, agentic workflows, and deployment. - Balance fast research iteration with scalable, reliable engineering. - Drive innovation in foundation models, generative AI, and scientific machine learning. - Collaborate closely with domain experts to rapidly acquire new technical knowledge. **Key Responsibilities:** - Establish technical excellence through hands‑on coding, code review, and architecture design. - Lead model selection, training strategy, and deployment decisions for large‑scale AI systems. - Develop AI solutions for computational chemistry, agentic workflows, and related scientific workloads. - Deliver research outcomes that meet publication standards at top tier conferences. - Maintain continuous engagement with latest ML literature and emerging technologies. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years experience in ML/AI research or engineering, or PhD + 2 years professional experience. - Proven track record of training, evaluating, and productionising large‑scale AI models. - Strong coding in Python, deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and experience with CI/CD pipelines. - Deep understanding of ML lifecycle, algorithmic reasoning, system design, linear algebra, and probabilistic models. - Debugging complex ML systems, edge‐case testing, and ablation study design. - Passion for advancing AI for breakthrough scientific and industrial applications. - Bonus: physics‑ or chemistry‑focused AI, large‑language‑model fine‑tuning, agentic systems, or open‑source ML contributions. **Required Education & Certifications:** - PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or related field; or - Equivalent advanced degree combined with professional ML/AI experience.
