Job Description
**Job title** CMM Programmer **Role Summary** Program and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) systems for high‑precision inspection in a manufacturing environment. Ensure accurate data acquisition, validate programmed geometries, and support engineering teams in achieving quality and production goals. **Expectations** - Deliver reliable CMM programs within specified time frames. - Maintain machine performance and calibration consistency. - Collaborate with process, quality, and engineering teams to resolve measurement issues. - Contribute to continuous improvement of measurement workflows and documentation. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Develop, edit, and document CMM measurement programs (using tool‑centered or feature‑based methods). 2. Calibrate and run validation sheets, ensuring compliance with accepted standards. 3. Troubleshoot software and hardware faults, working with vendors and service technicians. 4. Analyze measurement data, generate reports, and recommend corrective actions. 5. Maintain program libraries and version control. 6. Coordinate with engineering and production to interpret requirement changes. 7. Follow safety procedures and record‑keeping for traceability. **Required Skills** - Proficient in CMM programming (e.g., Vericut, Carl, or other industry tools). - Solid understanding of coordinate geometry, tolerancing, and metrology principles. - Experience with CAD/CAM platforms (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) and data interchange (e.g., STEP, IGES). - Programming/scripting knowledge (VBA, Python, C++). - Data analysis ability (basic statistics, CAD fitting). - Strong problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. - Certified CMM Programmer or equivalent credential (e.g., ASME, AMD, or ISO 10360). ---
