Job title: Group Finance Compliance & Governance Accountant Role Summary: Serve as a key financial accountant within the Finance Compliance and Governance team, shaping and enhancing the Group’s financial controls, governance policies, and compliance with UK accounting and corporate governance standards. Expactations: Deliver expert analysis and guidance on financial processes, lead the development and implementation of governance frameworks, maintain policy documentation, and communicate regulatory updates to stakeholders. Initiate and support control improvements, audit reviews, and transaction-related financial oversight. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and strengthen internal controls and governance environment across the Group’s financial processes. • Review, update, and enforce Group Directives, financial policies, and accounting manuals. • Translate changes in UK Accounting Standards and Corporate Governance framework into actionable requirements and communicate these to stakeholders. • Design and execute implementation programmes, coordinating with other Group functions. • Evaluate systems and tools (e.g., exception reporting, GRC platforms, anomaly detection) to bolster control effectiveness. • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members. • Coordinate completion and review of internal controls matrices. • Review subsidiary financial statements, reconcile statutory accounts, and support consolidation. • Assist in financial due diligence for acquisitions and divestments. • Review internal audit reports, validate findings, and ensure corrective actions are closed.
