Job Title: GCP Data Architect (Contract)
Role Summary: Design and implement scalable, secure, and high‑performance data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for enterprise workloads. Lead end‑to‑end architecture, data modeling, migration planning, and performance optimization, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance standards.
Expactations: Deliver robust GCP data solutions that support real‑time analytics and business intelligence. Successfully migrate on‑premises data pipelines to GCP with minimal downtime. Implement best‑practice security, governance, and cost‑management strategies. Provide guidance and documentation to stakeholders on data architecture and performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect modern data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, and associated GCP services.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models tailored to enterprise use cases.
- Plan and execute migration of on‑prem data workloads to GCP, ensuring data integrity and continuity.
- Design real‑time data pipelines utilizing Pub/Sub and streaming solutions.
- Implement and enforce IAM policies, VPC configurations, and security best practices across GCP resources.
- Monitor, benchmark, and optimize data workflows for cost efficiency and performance.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Required Skills:
- Hands‑on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, and GCS.
- Advanced SQL proficiency and expertise in ETL/ELT design.
- Strong data modeling skills (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Proficient with GCS, Pub/Sub, IAM, VPC, and GCP security practices.
- Proven track record in migrating on‑prem workloads to GCP and building real‑time pipelines.
- Ability to document architecture, best practices, and operational guidelines.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical field.
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification (preferred).
- Experience with GCP training and certifications related to data engineering and security.
