**Job Title**
Principal Solution Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, development, and delivery of end‑to‑end secure communications and information technology solutions for high‑profile defense clients. Own architecture standards, requirements management, and inter‑project alignment, ensuring solutions meet functional, performance, and security criteria across complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
**Expectations**
- Deliver architecture that aligns with client requirements and agency standards.
- Balance trade‑offs between functionality, quality, and systems management within large initiatives.
- Drive CC practice in security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage cross‑functional technical teams and act as the primary liaison among stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture for complex solutions, ensuring consistency with agreed requirements.
- Establish and enforce architecture policies, principles, and component selection criteria.
- Coordinate target architecture across multiple projects or initiatives, maintaining stability and design integrity.
- Lead scoping, requirements definition, prioritization, and baseline establishment for major initiatives.
- Select and adapt requirements management methods, tools, and techniques; contribute to organizational standards.
- Negotiate stakeholder priorities, resolve conflicts, and secure agreement on requirements changes.
- Drive adherence to systems development standards and embed security and privacy from conception through deployment.
- Identify and allocate resources needed for all stages of systems development projects; monitor technical, financial, and quality targets.
- Produce and approve network architecture documents, topologies, and configuration databases; specify design parameters for connectivity, capacity, speed, interfacing, security, and access.
- Assess network‑related risks, define recovery routines, and develop contingency procedures.
- Create multiple design views to address varied stakeholder concerns, covering functional and non‑functional requirements.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience leading technical teams in solution architecture for defense or secure communications systems.
- In‑depth knowledge of mobile, deployable, and highly mobile CSP/IT infrastructure and emerging cybersecurity technologies.
- Expertise in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, NATO standards).
- Strong requirements engineering, trade‑off analysis, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Advanced networking knowledge: IP, SD‑WAN, satellite, and secure routing; experience with topology and configuration database design.
- Comprehensive understanding of security, privacy, risk assessment, and recovery planning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for senior‑level stakeholders.
- Project and change management capability, with experience in multi‑disciplinary, multi‑region environments.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certifications strongly preferred: TOGAF, CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, CCNP/CCIE, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience with NATO, UN, or similar defense‑sector standards is highly valued.
