Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel
Role Summary:
Senior Legal Counsel will lead governance of regulatory and commercial matters for a rapidly scaling online gaming and betting platform. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating high‑value B2B agreements, overseeing supplier contracts, supporting corporate financing, and managing consumer‑facing terms and regulatory compliance across the UK.
Expectations:
* Own the legal strategy for product launches, market expansion, and compliance with the Gambling Act, LCCP, and other UK regulations.
* Operate autonomously with high ownership, effectively juggling multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
* Translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance for cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft, negotiate, and manage high‑value B2B contracts (white label, revenue share, platform integration, supplier agreements for cloud hosting, payments, sponsorship, marketing, technology).
* Support equity rounds, corporate structuring, and broader governance matters.
* Oversee consumer‑facing terms, promotions, product launches, and customer journeys.
* Manage safer gambling complaints, disputes, and potential litigation exposure.
* Strengthen regulatory horizon scanning, enforcement monitoring, and compliance reporting.
* Protect and develop IP and trademark portfolios.
* Drive legal process optimisation, AI adoption, and scalable third‑party onboarding frameworks.
* Collaborate closely with Compliance, Commercial, Finance, Product, Tech, and Executive Leadership.
Required Skills:
* Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or equivalent EU jurisdiction.
* 4–8 years legal experience in gambling, igaming, or highly regulated environment.
* Deep knowledge of UK gambling regulation (Gambling Act, LCCP).
* Advanced contract negotiation expertise, especially for white‑label, revenue‑share, and sportsbook supply agreements.
* Corporate structuring, funding rounds, and equity expertise.
* Strong understanding of data protection frameworks, small claims, and dispute resolution.
* Commercially pragmatic, solutions‑oriented mindset.
* Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain legal concepts to non‑legal stakeholders.
* High ownership mentality and comfort managing competing priorities.
Required Education & Certifications:
* Qualified solicitor in England and Wales (Solicitors Regulation Authority) or equivalent legal qualification in EU jurisdiction.
