**Job Title:** Network Engineer
**Role Summary**
Deliver end‑to‑end network design, implementation, and support for hybrid on‑premises and cloud environments. Lead connectivity between datacenters, cloud services (AWS, Azure), and external partners; manage routing, firewalls, ACI fabrics, and WAN components. Serve as the escalation point for network incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and continuous improvement.
**Expectations**
- Design and execute robust, secure network architectures that meet business and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrate expertise in routing, switching, and firewall technologies across both on‑premises and cloud platforms.
- Provide proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of network performance and security.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive network-related changes within IT service management practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement on‑premises to cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Azure ExpressRoute, Equinix Fabric).
- Configure and maintain routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, policy‑based routing, redistribution).
- Provision and manage WAN technologies (MPLS, VPN, SD‑WAN, Internet edge).
- Deploy and administer firewall solutions (Cisco ASA/FirePOWER, Checkpoint, Fortigate, AWS Firewall).
- Configure and enforce ACLs, NAT, QoS, CoS, VxLAN, and other security controls.
- Design and operate Cisco ACI fabric (spine/leaf, APIC, VxLAN, tenant segmentation).
- Manage Wi‑Fi solutions (Cisco Meraki, WL controllers).
- Perform network troubleshooting using packet capture, Wireshark, and related diagnostics.
- Operate network management and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, ISE, Infoblox, AWS and Azure native dashboards).
- Provide second/third‑line support for network incidents and act as the escalation point for the managed service.
- Execute change management across the entire network stack in alignment with organizational standards.
**Required Skills**
- Proficient with routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, redistribution, prefix lists.
- Strong knowledge of WAN: MPLS, VPN, SD‑WAN, circuit provisioning.
- Deep experience with cloud networking: Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPC/VPC Peering (AWS), Azure ExpressRoute.
- Firewall administration across multiple vendors (Cisco ASA/FirePOWER, Checkpoint, Fortigate, Cisco FMC/CSM).
- Advanced troubleshooting: ACLs, packet capture, Wireshark, debugging of network devices.
- Familiarity with Cisco ACI (spine/leaf, APIC, VxLAN) and NX‑OS.
- Wi‑Fi configuration and management (Meraki, WL controllers).
- Scripting experience (Python, Postman) considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of network tools: SolarWinds Orion, ISE, Infoblox, TrusTSec, RSA, Spyglass.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Relevant industry certifications:
- Cisco CCNP/CCNA, CCNP Security, CCNP Data Center, ACI (If available).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional (or equivalent Azure certification).
- Check Point Certified Security Architect / Fortinet NSE (or comparable firewall certifications).
- Continuing professional development in cloud security, network virtualization, and advanced routing is highly valued.
