Job Description
Job title: Actuary Statistics Intern / Apprenticeship (Product Actuary) Role Summary: Provide statistical support for product pricing and profitability analysis across professional, enterprise, construction, and individual insurance markets. Progress from an M1 internship to an M2 apprenticeship, engaging in data preparation, statistical modeling, and model evaluation. Expactations: - Complete tasks within agreed timelines. - Demonstrate analytical rigor and attention to detail. - Actively participate in project meetings and knowledge sharing. - Commit to continuous learning of actuarial tools and techniques. Key Responsibilities: - Assemble enriched databases combining risk, loss, external, and occupational data. - Conduct univariate and multivariate analyses using advanced statistical methods. - Develop average cost models (GLM, classification, machine‑learning) and neutralise variable effects. - Compare and validate selected models, presenting findings to product managers. - Review zoner maps and revise product tariffs to enhance profitability. Required Skills: - Proficiency in SAS and/or R for statistical modeling; Python is an advantage. - Strong data manipulation and analytical skills. - Competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Ability to translate complex statistical results into clear business insights. - Self‑motivation, result orientation, and teamwork. Required Education & Certifications: - Current enrollment in a Master’s program (Actuarial Science or Statistics) or equivalent engineering degree (Bac +4). - Willingness to undertake an M1 internship in June 2026 followed by an M2 apprenticeship starting September 2026.
