Data Engineer – Snowflake (Remote)
**Role Summary**
Senior data engineering professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high‑performance ETL/ELT pipelines within Snowflake. Handles large, complex datasets, data modeling, performance tuning, and seamless integration across the modern data stack to support enterprise customer needs.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 7 years of data engineering experience.
- Proven track record of building and operating end‑to‑end ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Advanced proficiency in Snowflake, Python, and SQL.
- Hands‑on knowledge of AWS services and contemporary data tools (dbt, Airflow, Fivetran).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT workflows in Snowflake.
- Design and optimize Snowflake data models for performance and scalability.
- Harness Python, raw SQL, and dbt to transform and load data reliably.
- Leverage AWS services to support data ingestion, storage, and processing pipelines.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to define data and platform requirements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve pipeline performance and reliability.
- Document architecture, data lineage, and best practices.
**Required Skills**
- Snowflake: data modeling, performance tuning, security, and administration.
- SQL (classic/ANSI) and Python (pandas, SQLAlchemy, etc.) for data transformation.
- ETL/ELT pipeline design and execution.
- AWS ecosystems (S3, Lambda, Redshift Spectrum, Glue, etc.).
- Modern data tooling: dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, normalization, and denormalization.
- Version control (Git) and CI/CD integration.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Snowflake SnowPro, AWS Certified Data Analytics, dbt Certified) are a plus.
