Job Title: Data Specialist Role Summary: Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data collection, parsing, reduction, and normalisation pipelines that feed security intelligence services. Works across on‑premise, hybrid, and cloud environments, ensuring data integrity, availability, and compliance while driving continuous improvement of data ingestion processes. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and implement data pipelines for parsing, routing, and normalising log, metric, and trace data. 2. Integrate and optimize data flows between on‑premise, hybrid, and cloud systems. 3. Develop self‑monitoring mechanisms to guarantee data availability and completeness. 4. Build distributed data collection architecture and evaluate new streaming or message‑queuing technologies. 5. Conduct third‑party technology research for data acquisition and tool integration. 6. Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to enforce data integrity, compliance, and secure transmission. 7. Investigate incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement improvements to data collection services. 8. Contribute to documentation, standards, and best practices for data management. Required Skills: - Programming in Python (and familiarity with syslog, Cribl, or similar data‑management tools). - Experience with data pipeline orchestration, stream processing, and message queuing (e.g., Kafka, NATS). - Knowledge of distributed systems and scalable data ingestion architectures. - Understanding of security intelligence pipelines and related threat‑intelligence concepts. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.
