Job Description
Job Title: Data Protection & Information Security Officer Role Summary: Responsible for governing the organisation’s compliance with data protection and information security laws, acting as the statutory Data Protection Officer (DPO). Maintains, updates, and enforces policies, coordinates responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection requests, leads breach investigations, and delivers training to staff. Expectations: - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation and ensure organisational procedures reflect current legal requirements. - Provide accurate, timely replies to FOI and Data Protection requests. - Investigate data breaches within required timeframes and recommend mitigation actions. - Report security incidents per internal policy and supervise secure information handling. - Deliver clear presentations and training on data protection and information security. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as statutory DPO. - Review and update policies, procedures and website content on data protection and security matters. - Coordinate FOI and Data Protection request handling. - Lead breach investigation, risk assessment, and mitigation. - Record‑keep electronic and paper documentation accurately. - Deliver training to mixed‑audience groups. - Manage responses and communications related to information security incidents. Job Description
**Job Title** Legal Assistant – Private Client **Role Summary** Provide administrative and client‑focused support for wills, lasting powers of attorney, probate and estate administration matters within a Private Client team. Ensure accurate file handling, timely preparation of documents, and empathetic communication with clients throughout sensitive processes. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, detail‑oriented assistance on all private client matters. - Meet strict deadlines and maintain organized, up‑to‑date case files. - Communicate clearly and compassionately with executors, beneficiaries and external agencies. - Support fee‑earners in achieving team targets while working both independently and collaboratively. **Key Responsibilities** - Manage probate and estate administration files from instruction to completion. - Prepare probate applications, wills, and lasting powers of attorney. - Draft correspondence, asset/liability schedules, and estate accounts. - Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, HMRC, and financial institutions. - Ensure accurate data entry, file management, and adherence to deadlines. - Provide empathetic client updates and respond to inquiries. - Assist fee‑earners with administrative tasks and contribute to team performance metrics. **Required Skills** - Proven experience in wills, probate, and/or estate administration (law firm, accountancy practice, bank, insurance, or similar). - Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail. - Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously under pressure. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case‑management software. - Proactive, independent work style with a collaborative team mindset. **Required Education & Certifications** - No formal legal qualifications required; relevant experience in private client law is essential.
