Job Title: VP, Head Translational Research, Vaccines & Infectious Diseases Research Unit
Role Summary:
Senior executive responsible for defining and executing the global strategy for translational research across the Vaccines & Infectious Diseases portfolio. Leads a global team of scientists and technical experts to translate early‑stage discoveries into high‑quality clinical data, ensuring alignment with R&D objectives, compliance, and budgetary discipline.

- Deliver a world‑class translational science capability that accelerates clinical development and innovation.
- Establish and maintain rigorous GCP, regulatory, and industry‑standard compliance for biomarker, immunogenicity, and bioanalytical studies.
- Drive operational excellence, efficient resource allocation, and cost‑effective deployment of internal and external study assets.
- Serve as the primary bridge between research, clinical operations, and development, fostering cross‑functional collaboration and informed decision‑making.
- Influence the scientific reputation and success of the vaccine portfolio through strategic vision and decisive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set the global translational strategy, roadmap, and milestones for biomarker and assay development.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a global team of ~15 scientific leaders and technical experts; ensure timely, high‑quality data delivery.
- Partner with R&D leaders, Clinical Operations, Research Technologies, and other departments to integrate translational science into R&D programs.
- Oversee biomarker, immunogenicity, and bioanalytical assay development, sample testing, and central lab operations.
- Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacology Modelling & Simulation (CPMS) to develop and deploy systems and tools; establish a community of practice.
- Ensure global compliance with GCP, regulatory requirements, and industry standards for all translational activities.
- Manage the global budget, resource planning, and infrastructure for the Translational Research team, optimizing allocation to meet strategic goals.
Required Skills:
- Proven strategic and operational leadership in an R&D environment, specifically within vaccinology or infectious diseases.
- Deep expertise in translational research, biomarker development, and early‑stage clinical study design.
- Strong knowledge of GCP, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards for clinical research.
- Ability to manage large, cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Budget management and resource allocation skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- PhD in Immunology, Virology, Infectious Diseases, or a related scientific discipline.
- Post‑doctoral or equivalent research experience is preferred.
