Job Description

Job Title: NodeJS Developer Role Summary: Develop and maintain backend services for a real‑time flight communication platform using Node.js and Nest.js. Implement RESTful APIs, WebSocket interfaces, and OpenAPI documentation within an Agile environment, collaborating closely with product owners, UI/UX designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high‑quality, secure, and scalable solutions. Expactations: - Deliver well‑tested, production‑ready code that meets performance and security standards. - Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospective meetings. - Communicate progress and blockers clearly in English and Dutch. Key Responsibilities: - Design, code, test, and deploy Node.js backend services and APIs. - Build and maintain WebSocket endpoints for real‑time messaging. - Document APIs using OpenAPI (Swagger) and ensure consistency with front‑end consumption. - Configure and manage Node.js build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD). - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and runtime errors. - Apply OWASP security best practices to protect against top 10 vulnerabilities. - Write unit and integration tests using Jest (or equivalent) and maintain test coverage. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate product requirements into technical specifications. Required Skills: - Strong experience with Node.js, Nest.js (or comparable frameworks). - Proficiency in building REST APIs and WebSocket services. - Familiarity with OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications and documentation. - Knowledge of Jest or similar testing frameworks for unit and integration tests. - Ability to set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for Node.js applications. - Understanding of application performance tuning and debugging. - Experience implementing security controls to mitigate OWASP Top 10 risks. - Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills in both English and Dutch. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or equivalent practical experience. - (Optional) Certifications related to Node.js development, API security, or software testing.
