Job Description
**Job Title** Head of Quantity Surveying (Commercial) – EV Infrastructure **Role Summary** Lead commercial and cost management for EV infrastructure projects, overseeing budgeting, procurement, contract negotiation, and financial control from tender to completion. Drive profitability, ensure contractual compliance, and advise senior leadership on risk, margin and pricing strategy. **Expactations** - Deliver accurate cost estimates, forecasts and budgets for all project stages. - Manage contract negotiation, administration and change control (NEC3/4 or equivalent). - Provide commercial guidance on risk, margin and pricing strategy to senior leadership. - Review and approve subcontractor quotations, valuations and variations. - Ensure financial reporting and cost tracking align with project objectives. - Mentor and develop junior QS or commercial staff. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead the quantity surveying and commercial management function across EV infrastructure projects. - Oversee cost estimation, forecasting, and budget management from tender through delivery. - Conduct contract negotiation, administration, and change control. - Collaborate with delivery, engineering and finance teams to monitor performance and profitability. - Support bid and tender processes through accurate cost modelling and commercial input. - Manage project budgets, financial reporting and risk control. **Required Skills** - Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS in infrastructure, energy, utilities or construction. - Deep understanding of cost management, contracts and commercial governance. - Strong experience with NEC3/4 or equivalent contract forms. - Excellent numerical, analytical and commercial outcome focus. - Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and communication skills. - Detail‑oriented, proactive in identifying and resolving commercial issues. - Leadership and mentoring capabilities. **Required Education & Certifications** - Degree (or equivalent experience) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Cost Engineering or related discipline. - Relevant commercial or contract management certifications preferred.
