Job Description
**Job title:** Sales Engineer **Role Summary:** Provide technical expertise to certified installers and the sales team for Smappee’s energy management and EV charging solutions. Facilitate successful installations, integrations, and troubleshooting while translating complex technical concepts into clear guidance for partners. Drive revenue by aligning technical solutions with customer needs and identifying sales opportunities. **Expectations:** - Serve as the primary technical contact for certified installers. - Ensure installers fully understand product specifications, system configuration, and diagnostics. - Resolve technical issues promptly; coordinate with engineering for escalations. - Collaborate with internal teams to achieve high customer satisfaction. - Support the sales team by tailoring technical solutions to customer requirements and uncovering upsell opportunities. - Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and industry trends. - Travel within Belgium and occasional international trips; fluency in Dutch, English, and/or French required. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Act as technical liaison for certified installers. 2. Deliver training on product specs, system setup, and troubleshooting. 3. Analyze and resolve complex installation problems. 4. Escalate unresolved issues to engineering or product development. 5. Coordinate with sales, support, and engineering to close technical gaps. 6. Keep installers and sales teams informed of product updates and best practices. 7. Identify potential sales opportunities during customer interactions. 8. Maintain accurate documentation of installation procedures and issue logs. 9. Represent the technical perspective in customer meetings and workshops. **Required Skills:** - Electrical/electromechanical or related engineering knowledge. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting aptitude. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences. - Customer‑centric mindset with relationship‑building abilities. - Self‑management: ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently. - Knowledge of energy monitoring, smart‑home tech, EV charging, or renewable energy is a plus. - Multilingual: fluent Dutch, proficient English, and/or French. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or equivalent technical field. - Any relevant certifications in electrical systems, smart‑home technologies, or renewable energy are advantageous.
