**Job Title:** Associate Network Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Assist the Network Design team in reviewing business and technical requirements, develop and execute provisioning procedures, and deploy core network upgrades and new services. Manage lab testing, production deployments, and provide expertise on hardware/software feature availability and performance.
**Expectations:**
- Apply solid service provider experience with core IP, CDN, peering, and transit.
- Deploy and maintain Cisco IOS‑XR platforms (NCS/ASR) including configuration, management, and OS upgrades.
- Implement routing protocols and advanced technologies such as ISIS, MPLS, BGP, QoS, Segment Routing, EPE, EVPN, and telemetry.
- Communicate risks, obtain sign‑offs, and deliver timely project updates.
- Continuously suggest process and technical improvements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Review and interpret high‑level and low‑level network designs with the Design team.
2. Document provisioning procedures (MoP) for capacity expansions, upgrades, migrations, and new projects/services.
3. Deploy procedures to the production network during scheduled out‑of‑hours windows.
4. Conduct lab testing to validate procedures, ensuring error‑free production rollout.
5. Provide detailed hardware and software knowledge to feature/availability discussions with test and design engineers & vendors.
6. Support teammates, share insights, and propose enhancements to processes or tools.
**Required Skills:**
- Service provider networking: core IP backbone, CDN, peering, and transit.
- Cisco IOS‑XR platforms: NCS/ASR configuration, management, OS upgrades.
- Routing & switching: ISIS, MPLS, BGP, QoS, Segment Routing, EPE, EVPN.
- Telemetry, network automation, and modeling: Netconf, YANG.
- Scripting & tooling: Python, GIT, Jinja templates.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to convey technical risks and obtain approvals.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or related field.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent) preferred.
