Build Production Engineer (23‑Month Fixed Term Contract)
**Role Summary**
Hands‑on engineer responsible for identifying, designing, implementing and validating process improvements across car build and manufacturing operations. Owns the full project lifecycle—from concept through design, commissioning, and handover—while working on the shop floor and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability in a high‑performance environment.

- Translate ideas into practical tooling, automation, software, and data solutions.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and ISO compliance.
- Provide clear documentation, SOPs, and training for sustained adoption.
- Demonstrate proactive problem‑solving, analytical rigor, and continuous‑improvement mindset.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Identify, analyze, and prioritize process improvement opportunities in car build and related manufacturing areas.
- Lead projects from feasibility, design (CAD), build, commissioning, to sustained operation.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, automation, software tools, and data capture systems.
- Conduct shop‑floor trials, refine processes, and resolve implementation issues.
- Integrate new technologies (automation, digital tools, smart manufacturing, AI, data pipelines).
- Develop and maintain data collection, reporting, and performance‑tracking solutions.
- Collaborate with Design Office, Production, Quality, ERP, and IT to ensure robust, compliant solutions.
- Apply structured problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis to production issues.
- Support machine‑related projects, including safety systems and sensor integration.
- Document solutions via SOPs, ADs, and training materials for long‑term sustainability.
**Required Skills**
- Strong hands‑on experience in process, manufacturing, or production engineering (motorsport, aerospace, or comparable high‑performance sector).
- Proven track record delivering full‑cycle process improvements.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing/assembly processes, quality standards, and operational constraints.
- Experience with automation, digital manufacturing tools, data capture, and smart‑factory concepts.
- Familiarity with machine safety systems and sensor technologies (beneficial).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and product control docs.
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g., 3DX, CATIA V5 or similar).
- Strong MS Office skills; ERP experience (e.g., SAP) advantageous.
- Excellent multi‑tasking, prioritization, and communication abilities.
- Analytical, structured problem‑solver with a bias for action and ownership.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive, or related engineering discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) are advantageous but not mandatory.
