Job title: Senior Software Engineer Role Summary: Lead design, development, and maintenance of high‑performance enterprise applications using Python and Java on AWS. Mentor team members, enforce coding standards, and drive continuous improvement across the engineering organization. Expectations: - Deliver secure, scalable solutions that meet business requirements. - Maintain high code quality through automated tests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines. - Proactively identify and implement process, architectural, and tooling improvements. - Champion the adoption of AI‑powered development tools and secure coding practices. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and deploy applications in Python/Java with MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redshift. - Write comprehensive unit tests and use TDD and CI/CD workflows. - Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and promote secure coding. - Troubleshoot and debug complex systems, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement fixes. - Mentor and coach junior staff, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development. - Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to define feature specifications. - Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to micro‑service and containerization strategies. - Lead or support AI tooling initiatives across the software development life cycle. Required Skills: - Senior level proficiency in Python, Java, and relational databases (MySQL). - Certified experience with AWS IaaS & PaaS services and cloud architecture. - Strong knowledge of object‑oriented design and scalable enterprise application patterns. - Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP), CI/CD, TDD, and pair programming. - Experience with unit test frameworks and automated testing pipelines. - Demonstrated ability to apply secure coding practices and perform vulnerability assessments. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities. - Proficiency with AI code assistants (GitHub Copilot, others).
