Job Description
Job Title: Supplier Development Engineer Role Summary: Lead proactive and reactive quality assurance for a global supplier base, ensuring new and existing suppliers meet quality, performance, and compliance standards. Drive APQP activities, supplier improvement plans, and continuous improvement initiatives while providing risk assessment and collaborative support to production and procurement teams. Expactations: Deliver measurable quality improvements, maintain rigorous documentation, ensure timely PPAP compliance, and act as the quality voice in commodity strategy meetings. Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to influence supplier practices towards sustained excellence. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct supplier evaluation and qualification per global audit guidelines; participate in Technical Review Assessments. - Lead APQP process for new product development and change management, ensuring control plans, PPAP readiness, and documentation compliance. - Perform on‑site Process Series Reviews and system audits, tracking Action Plans and resolving open issues. - Manage supplier improvement processes, including escalation, improvement plans, New Business Holds, or exits. - Analyze quality data, identify risk drivers, and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production to implement corrective actions. - Update and maintain project status reports, Action Plans, and supplier performance dashboards. - Represent quality interests in regional and global commodity strategy meetings. - Maintain knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Special Process Modules, and industry best practices.
