Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Support and Development Engineer **Role Summary:** Provide 2nd‑level technical support for Dematic’s warehouse execution software and contribute to ongoing development of WCS, MFC, and OFS systems. Collaborate with global software teams, handle on‑call duties, and support international project commissioning and post‑go‑live activities. **Expectations:** - Deliver timely, solution‑focused support to new and existing customers. - Accurately document service cases and resolution steps. - Participate in software development and change‑request processing. - Share 24/7 on‑call rotation with the UK support team. - Travel as required for project commissioning or customer visits. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform 2nd‑line support for software issues, including troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis. - Create and maintain documentation of incidents, solutions, and knowledge‑base articles. - Develop and enhance Java‑based components for WCS, MFC, and OFS platforms. - Process and implement change requests for existing client installations. - Collaborate with functional departments and global teams to provide feedback on software projects. - Support international project roll‑outs, commissioning, and after‑go‑live support. **Required Skills:** - Strong Java development experience (core Java, OOP, APIs). - Proficient with Oracle (SQL/PLSQL) database querying and troubleshooting. - Solid understanding of software architecture and debugging techniques. - Experience in 2nd‑line IT/software support or similar technical support role. - Excellent written and verbal communication; patience and persistence in customer interactions. - Familiarity with Warehouse Management/Execution Systems (WMS/WES) is a plus. - Ability to work in a team, share on‑call duties, and travel when needed. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Database, Java SE) are advantageous but not mandatory.
