Job Description
Job title: Financial Data Analyst Internship Role Summary: Junior data professional tasked with developing, modelling, and maintaining financial dashboards and data pipelines within a digital workplace environment. The role focuses on learning and applying Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, and related BI tools to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for a large enterprise. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality financial visualisations and data models, contribute to ongoing optimisation of dashboards, and support integration of disparate data sources. Demonstrate clear communication with finance and technical stakeholders and continuously improve data processes. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and refine interactive Power BI dashboards for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. - Model data, create DAX measures, and write SQL queries to extract and transform data from sources such as Salesforce, Redshift, and ERP systems. - Develop and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using Power Automate, connectors, and APIs. - Test data flows, troubleshoot anomalies, and iteratively enhance dashboards and models. - Document configurations, develop user guides, and maintain a data dictionary. - Collaborate with finance and business teams to capture requirements, translate them into dashboard logic, and communicate progress. Required Skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI and DAX; familiarity with Power Automate and connectors. - SQL querying skills; basic experience with scripting (Python or equivalent). - Working knowledge of Salesforce data, data integration, and API integration. - Version control experience (GitHub or Azure DevOps) and documentation practices. - Understanding of core financial processes: budgeting cycles, forecasting, variance analysis, financial KPIs, and reporting. - Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. - Good written and oral communication in English. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s (4‑year) or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field. - No mandatory certifications required, but knowledge of Power BI and SQL is essential.
