**Job Title:** Structural Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Lead structural engineer responsible for conceptual and detailed design of building structures for data‑center solutions. Ensures compliance with federal, state and municipal codes, delivers designs that meet quality and budget requirements, and provides technical support from pre‑sales through construction and post‑installation phases.
**Expectations:**
- Minimum 4 years experience in mechanical/structural engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit; strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to interpret codes, construction drawings, and customer specifications.
- Demonstrated project‑management, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Willingness to travel 15–25 % domestically and internationally.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Serve as Lead Structural Engineer for conceptual, schematic, detail, and construction‑drawing phases.
- Perform static, dynamic (blast impact), thermal‑transfer, and foundation calculations.
- Develop and review structural product submittals, material specifications, welding procedures, NDE methods, surface preparation, painting, dimensional and load‑test procedures.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, civil engineers, vendors, and customers to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Manage contracted engineering firms and oversee civil, mechanical, and structural calculations and factory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and Vertiv quality standards.
- Conduct on‑site quality control, support module repairs, and validate fabrication processes, including weld inspections and workmanship audits.
- Provide technical support for information requests throughout construction and assist in design validation at fabricator facilities.
- Generate creative, cost‑effective solutions while maintaining reliability and maintainability.
**Required Skills:**
- Knowledge of local, state and federal building codes for low‑voltage switchgear installations.
- AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit competency.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and equipment specifications.
- Familiarity with material selection, structural detailing, and finish specifications.
- Project management and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, detail orientation, and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to research emerging designs, technologies, and construction methods for data‑center facilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license – optional but preferred.
