Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Science Manager **Role Summary:** Lead a cross‑functional analytics team to design, develop, and deploy predictive models and advanced analytics solutions that drive business decisions. Partner with business stakeholders to translate complex problems into data‑driven strategies, establish best practices, and provide thought leadership on emerging analytical techniques. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑impact predictive models and insights that generate measurable business value. - Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and internal peers. - Foster a collaborative, innovative team culture while mentoring data scientists and modelers. - Ensure timely, high‑quality project execution and adherence to governance standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with business partners to define problems, prioritize analytics initiatives, and translate requirements into technical solutions. - Oversee development of predictive models using GLMs, machine learning, NLP, and other advanced techniques. - Conduct data discovery, exploration, and preparation from internal and external sources. - Establish repeatable processes and best practices for the Strategic Analytics team. - Provide thought leadership on new methodologies, tools, and software. - Mentor, coach, and develop a growing team of data scientists and predictive modelers. - Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non‑technical audiences. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, NLP, and data mining. - Strong programming skills in Python, R, and/or SQL. - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure) preferred. - Excellent project management and organizational abilities. - Superior verbal and written communication; ability to simplify complex concepts. - Strong teamwork and relationship‑building skills across functions. - High curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, and strong critical‑thinking/problem‑solving capabilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related field (advanced degree preferred). - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Cloud, Machine Learning, Data Science) are a plus.
