Buyer (Casual Brands)
**Role Summary**
Identify, evaluate, and acquire brand and product mix for a fashion segment, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, market trends, and profitability targets. Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, and external suppliers to deliver a gap‑free, cohesive range that drives sales, margin, and brand differentiation within the global market.

**Key Responsibilities**
1. Develop seasonal product ranges that reflect brand strategy and consumer demands, ensuring logical flow and commercial viability.
2. Work with Merchandising to set OTB, analyze category performance, and adjust plans throughout the season.
3. Identify gaps and opportunities in the range, recommending acquisitions that maximize impact on sales and profit.
4. Negotiate with suppliers and manage the sourcing pipeline to secure favorable terms and risk‑mitigated delivery.
5. Conduct market and trend analysis, incorporating data from sales, trade shows, Instagram, and street fashion.
6. Lead cost‑saving initiatives and promote sustainable material usage.
7. Collaborate with Marketing on promotion schedules and brand messaging consistency.
8. Partner with Cross‑Functional teams on strategic projects, driving change and innovation.
9. Build and develop a high‑performing buying team, providing coaching, feedback, and career development.
10. Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practices across buying activities.
**Required Skills**
- Strong commercial acumen: data‑driven decision making, profit‑margin focus, OTB management.
- Advanced negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement.
- Market & trend intelligence: knowledge of global fashion cycles, retail conditions, and competitor activity.
- Planning & trading expertise: mastery of forecasting, assortment planning, and trade documents.
- Cross‑functional collaboration: ability to work effectively with Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Leadership: team building, motivation, training, and performance coaching.
- Sustainable sourcing mindset and understanding of responsible fashion practices.
- Detail‑oriented, organised, and proactive in a fast‑paced environment.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a branded Junior Buyer or Buyer in a global fashion retailer.
- Validity of any relevant procurement, supply‑chain or fashion‑industry certifications is a plus.
